Climate Change and Variability
Earth’s atmosphere and climate has changed dramatically during the past 2.6 million years, which have been defined by the alternate coming and going of ice ages. We study these changes, including their interactions with the oceans, ice sheets, and land surfaces, and look at the processes involved across the globe. Interests stem from annual climate variability over the past few centuries to long-term climate trends, as well as the processes involved in drought and abrupt climate change.
